Trot Times for August 20, 2013

Let's get right to the trots!

Home Run of the Day: Yasiel Puig, Los Angeles Dodgers – 16.98 seconds [video]
This pinch-hit home run is a thing of beauty. The only thing that could have made it better was if the ball slammed into the home run sculpture out there in center field, rather than landing on the stairwell next to it. Just perfect.

Slowest Trot: Yadier Molina, St. Louis Cardinals – 25.61 seconds [video]
Yadi edges out Colorado's Troy Tulowitzki for the slowest trot of the day. Neither player is one you see at the top of these lists all too often.

Quickest Trot: Yasiel Puig, Los Angeles Dodgers – 16.98 seconds [video]
The best thing about this home run was, of course, the trot. Well, the bat flip and the trot. The cameras in Miami followed the ball out beyond the fence and, by the time they cut back to Puig, he was already touching third. This 16.98 second trot would have been even quicker if Puig hadn't slowed down in his last few steps before the plate.

How can you not love watching a trot like that?
