I wonder why they never brought in the bullpen in one of the numerous 80 something run blow outs...Oh wait I forgot Brad Lidge was the closer and they still wanted to win the game. Signed a disgruntled Phillies fan who was at game 4 - ScottY Ack

There's a strip I remember in which Charlie Brown is pitching and Snoopy and Linus pull off a double play to end the game. Since only the winning team can end the game with a double play, the Peanuts gang must have won it. It's the only recollection I have of the team winning with Charlie Brown on the mound. I used to own all those little Peanuts paperbacks and would read them again and again. - mcbrucke

Wow, this is fantastic! I gotta say as a Phillies fan that only until recently (since 2002), it seemed like they were interchangeable with Charlie Brown's team. Keep up the great work! - Vinay Vasuki

I don't care what the final record is-- Charlie Brown is a winner in my book. And I'm still a member of the Joe Shlabotnik Fan Club. - Fr. John Hissrich

Why Snoopy Can Win Rookie of the Year

Snoopy wins Rookie of the Year because in the Peanuts universe, time repeats itself. Note that everyone stops aging around age 8 or 9. Thus, this is the first year Snoopy played, it's just not the first time that year happened.

I'm at a loss for words, other than saying this was really cool!

I have a few of the Fantagraphics Peanuts books (the early 50s stuff), and they are as awesome as this series of posts. - Big Al Beaton
